HOLIDAY SEASON FESTIVITIES  2004
Highlights from 2004-2005
The Honors Algebra class celebrated the day before vacation with our annual blender party.  The students made balanced concoctions of juices, veggies, fruit, ice cream and you name it.

We had a lot to celebrate, having completed our long study of factoring and the introduction to quadratic equations.
The new year will begin with a study of algebraic fractions.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Welcome to Honors Algebra!   Our emphasis in this class will be on applications and problem solving.  Our goal is to apply algebraic concepts to the benefit of our outstanding students.

Student have an assignment sheet which highlights all activities over a 2- 3 week period of time.

The textbook is our primary resource, though supplmentary activities are presented on a regular basis.

Students are encouraged to complete the assignments the day they are presented, not the night before they are due.

Parents can monitor their child's progress by checking the assignment sheet on a regular basis. Weekend updates are not emailed home as they were in Pre-Algebra
Parents:  If you have any questions, email me or stop by school between 7 and 7:30 a.m.  No appointment is needed.  If these times are not convenient, email me your preference.

PLEASE DO NOT ASSIST YOUR CHILDREN WITH ANY EXTRA CREDIT PROBLEMS.  THIS IS UNFAIR AND DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF EXTRA CREDIT, WHICH IS MEANT TO GIVE YOUR CHILD AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP THEIR PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS.
What if... this world was like algebra?
It would be a world of equality where everything is balanced out. People of all race, ethnicity, gender, and religion will be treated the same, just like an algebra equation "what you do to one side, you do the same with the other." And in this world of equality, there is also acceptance-for who we are; not only on the outside, but in the inside as well. Acceptance, equality, balance, ALGEBRA- what if this world was like algebra?
